Yoga

So, I gave yoga a try since getting the implant. Hated yoga with the hearing aid because I could never hear the instructor. I can hear more (not all) with the CI, I can hear "inhale" "exhale"... I sort of enjoyed it. The yoga classes are heated, which made me iffy the first few times, as I sweat SO much. Well I tried it with a head band, and that worked so much better to whic the sweat away more. It was a head band that was sort of mesh like, and I had a light bulb moment to hook the ear hook in the mesh, and the processor stayed in place while I was in differednt poses. I bought a membership with a friend, and we have done yoga three times a week. Just thought I would share. :)

Normal range? Sure doesnt sound like it.

If my auditory test said I was hearing beeps in the normal range, I thought I should be hearing things like others do. The other night I asked lance to turn on his sleep sound cd, and he said it was already on. I can't hear a person standing next to me, one on one. I'm confused.

January

So, I really don't have that much to update. I'm so used to wearing my ci, sometimes I just forget about it. I notice when I'm NOT wearing it though, my ci ear is exeeding my aided ear and when I'm not wearing the CI, I often wonder wonder how I ever made it through life with just my hearing aid! Together, the two compliment each other so well. Lately I have been forgetting to only wear the CI because I enjoy using both so much.

I have an appointment for a new mapping on Friday. I am ready for a new one.  I keep my volume on 10 for most programs, I think that's generally a sign you're due for an upgrade. Lol.

Lance and I practiced words, and I had the most trouble with Rand W words. I am attempting one chapter a night listening to audible.com books.

Wow moment

I used my phones gps/maps, and I was wondering what was telling me directions ( I hadn't heard the phone media volume before). I make it out clearly. Lol

Being a geek

First full phone conversation using the CI!

Just spent about ten minutes on the phone with my dad! That was fun. :)

Moment of weird.

So I'm sitting in a restaurant, I had both my aid and CI on and I hear there's music playing. I was hearing piano music with my hearing aid, and I realized I shouldn't have it on in the first place. Turned off my aid, and realized there was actually a voice singing as well (ci ear). So, suddenly I'm hearing BETTER out of my CI ear.
